About Red Tailed Clothing
Welcome to Red Tailed Clothing — wearable art inspired by imagination, nature and the things I love.
I’m Emma Martinez, an artist and designer based in the North East of England. My creative journey has always been about bringing my illustrations and ideas into the world in different ways, from traditional artwork and surface pattern design to clothing and textiles.
Red Tailed Clothing was inspired by my beloved African Grey Parrot, Bailey. Bailey is a huge part of my life and has been a constant source of inspiration, personality and joy. I wanted to create a brand that reflected that sense of individuality — colourful, expressive and a little bit different.
Each design begins with my own creative ideas and artwork. I love creating patterns that feel like more than just something printed onto fabric; I want them to become something you can wear and enjoy as wearable art.
My designs can be bold, playful, feminine, quirky, colourful or inspired by the natural world. I’m always experimenting with new ideas and developing collections that are uniquely my own.
Red Tailed Clothing is an extension of my art — bringing my illustrations and surface designs away from the canvas and into the clothes we wear.
